It’s not often that Scotland are a nation with an excess of quality players in the one position. Usually, they are lucky to have one. However, in Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney and Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson, it’s fair to say the nation has plenty of options to consider and to look at. However, it looks like on of this duo could be on the move, with the Celtic defender being heavily linked with a move abroad.

While links to Arsenal have been floating around for a while, it does not look likely that he will make the move to the Emirates. Two clubs which are seriously interested in Tierney, though, are Olympique Lyonnais of France, and, more importantly, Napoli of Italy. Although they have quality left-backs on the books at San Paolo, there is always talk that a new left-back could come in should they choose to cash in on either Mario Rui or Faouzi Ghoulam.

However, given the injury issues that Tierney has – the Scot is still recovering from a double hernia operation – would a move this summer be a good idea?

It does not appear to be putting off potential buyers, though. The player has become a major talent, and is easily one of the most exciting full-backs in the British game. With a happy mix of power and technical prowess, Tierney would be a fine signing for any club.

A known and passionate Celtic fan, though, will he leave Celtic for the Serie A outfit?
